Well made, heavy, clip and lanyard issues

It is what it is: a Leatherman. It's well made, of course. Either the mix of tools on it are what you want, or not. (Although the "ruler" on the reverse side of the "file" would be better as another file, and the "package opener" as an awl.) All the tools work fine, or as noted in internet reviews.

In terms of usability, the Rev is OK but not great, unlike say a Honey Badger flipper knife, which is a genuine pleasure to carry, open and use. From new, the Rev is stiff to open and getting some of the smaller tools out requires having a thumbnail. The most difficult tool to fold out is the "package opener". That fact just makes it more likely that the knife will be used to open packages instead. Long run durability of the Rev remains to be seen.

I have three niggles. First, there's no good place to attach a lanyard/ wrist strap. The obvious thing, looping it around the pocket clip, puts it at the wrong end of the tool, near the pivots of the pliers and knife blade, rather than at the wrist end of the handle. The "lanyard hole" at the end of the larger handle is not great either. A better place would be at the end of the smaller handle, which fits against the base of your thumb and stays in the same place with respect to your wrist while using the pliers.

Second, the pocket clip isn't detachable/swappable. It's uncomfortable for left-handed use.

Third, the Rev feels needlessly heavy. It'd get carried around more if it were less uncomfortable in the pocket and less weight…
