Lifesaving Jackets & Vests

Life Saving Jackets are designed to provide buoyancy and help keep the wearer afloat in the water. Unlike most PFDs, they are engineered to turn an unconscious person onto their back and keep their airway clear of the water, making them suitable for emergency situations and offshore use.

In New Zealand, maritime rules require you to carry and ideally wear a correctly fitting PFD or Life Jacket for every person on board any powered or paddlecraft.
